COMPREHENSIVE EYE EXAM

A Comprehensive eye exam includes auto-refraction / keratometry, glaucoma check, pupils, extraocular muscle evaluation, refraction, retinoscopy, binocular vision test, ocular health evaluation, and spectacle prescription.

Comprehensive eye exams evaluate both the external and internal health of your eyes in addition to assessing visual function and need for glasses prescription. Preventative eye care is key to preserving your vision and ocular health long-term. Yearly eye exams are recommended for most patients, but it also depends on your age, risk factors, and whether or not you wear corrective lenses.

ADVANCED WIDE-FIELD RETINAL IMAGING

Our office offers Optomap ultra-widefield retinal imaging. This state of the art technology is non-invasive, captures more than 80% of your retina, and in many cases can replace the need for dilation.

Optomap retinal imaging helps your eye care practitioner detect early signs of ocular diseases more effectively and efficiently than with traditional eye exams. Many eye conditions have no obvious signs or symptoms. Retinal imaging combined with your comprehensive eye exam can facilitate early diagnosis and treatment to prevent vision loss or other systemic health concerns.

Your eyes are a window to your health. The retina (located in the back of the eye) is the only place in the body where blood vessels can be seen directly. In addition to eye conditions, signs of systemic diseases can be seen with the help of retinal imaging. These conditions include hypertension, diabetes, and life-threatening diseases like cancer, stroke, and cardiovascular disease.
